Let’s get NAKED2

There I stood again, staring at the same tempting palette.  An array of soothing shades, ranging from light to dark, all packaged in a slim tin box. To buy or not to buy….BUY of course!

Purchased at ULTA- $50.  This Urban Decay NAKED2 palette comes with a mini lip gloss and a double ended brush. The gloss has a sweet/minty smell which I don’t care for but it’s a pretty warm neutral pink with shimmer.  I’ve been using the tapered end of the brush to blend but the flat shader brush doesn’t work for me.  I tried to use it to swatch colors and it wouldn’t hold the shadow.

Foxy and Tease are great matte shades.  I’ve used Tease in my crease and Foxy to blend shades together.

Busted and Pistol are my two favorite dark shades. I’ve been using Blackout over my false lash adhesive and I actually prefer it over MAC’s black shadow.  It’s a very intense black that packs on and stays put.

Over all, I’m satisfied with this palette. The packaging is sturdy and great for travel. A couple of the shades with glitter seem to have a bit of fall out but its manageable.  There are only 3 matte shades so if you love shimmer, you’ll love it.The shades blend well and the color pay off is great. Brown smokey eyes are in and this is the perfect palette to create that sultry eye.

Valentine’s DATE attire

February 14th is right around the corner.  It’s a day that we’ve put aside to show our loved ones just how much we appreciate them.  True LOVE should be celebrated everyday, but on Valentine’s day, it’s always fun to be a part of the LOVEly festivities.  Flowers will be sent, chocolates will be devoured, cards will be read and dinner will be special.  Don’t be caught off guard, prepare yourself now and make sure you have that perfect outfit ready.  When you look good, you’ll feel confident and your energy will uplift that special someone’s heart.

Another Line 'Updated' Skinny Patent Belt-Nordstrom

 I’d pair this dress with a thin belt to create and accentuate a waistline.  You can’t go wrong with hot pink but a bright and cheerful tangerine would also pair nicely.  Tangerine is the “it” color for the upcoming Spring season.  It’s always fun to add a pop of color.

Theory Blazer-Bloomingdales

To keep warm, I’d add a structured blazer like this one by Theory.  The front is designed to bring the waist in, creating a visual hourglass and its simplicity won’t overpower the dress.

Aldo Westberry Platform Pump-Nordstrom

I have a couple of pairs of shoes in mind for this outfit. This pump above by Aldo has a thin silver heel which makes it dangerously sexy.

Cesare Paciotti-Zappos

Above is the Cesare Paciotti bootie. I love the strip detail down the front.  It covers the foot right up to the ankle, lays close and leaves a little bit to the imagination.  The loose drape of the strips also prevents the shoe from cutting off at the ankle, which can shorten your legs.  It’s a pump and bootie in one.  Love it!

Camilla Skovgaard-Endless.com

My absolute favorite shoe for this outfit is this Camilla Skovgaard bootie.  The top sits right below the ankle and scoops downward which makes the legs look long and lean.  From the side, the saw-like bottom detail adds an edgy punch.  It’s such a sleek, modern, and powerful shoe.  If you’re not a blazer type of gal, try this shoe with the dress and a leather bomber jacket.  It’ll give you a bit of an urban appeal.

Whatever you decide to wear, have a LOVEly time.  Break out of the “red” cliché.  Try other colors on this special day. You’d be surprised at the power of color.  I recently went to a party which was hosted by a close friend.  She had on a dreamy cobalt blue top.  It complimented her skin tone and gave her a powerful glow. She looked magnificent.
