LIPs soft as BUTTER…

17 Jan

Soft, smooth and odorless is what I prefer. I can’t stand it when it’s thick, sticky and ill scented.  I want it to be natural on most days and would prefer a light formula with plenty of moisture.  My lip product pick for this month is REVLON COLORBURST LIP BUTTER.

The packaging is simple. Quilted top with a matte finish that clicks onto the base.  It’s a secure closure that won’t slide off.

Berry Smoothie and Peach Parfait are the two colors I tried.

Berry Smoothie on the left and Peach Parfait on the right. Both were swiped 3 times.

Berry Smoothie (above) is a light and airy cool pink.

Peach Parfait is a soft warm pink with a touch of sparkle.  It’s my current everyday lip product.

This product is not a lipstick.  It’s a lip balm that has great pigmentation.  It goes on smooth and has a vaseline fused with Chapstick  like texture. It’s not long-lasting and I do find myself reapplying often, but unlike a lipstick, it doesn’t feather out from the middle.  Instead, the shine goes away and leaves a light and natural tint.  My lip routine usually includes a lip liner and lipstick but I’m in love with these lip butters.  If you don’t like carrying  a purse full of makeup and need a quick boost for your lips, these are perfect!

If you’re looking for a balm, give this a try.  I have tried other colors but for me, these two complement my skin tone the best.

I’ve seen the REVLON COLORBURST LIP BUTTER sold at Target, Walgreens, ULTA, and CVS.  They range in price from about $7 to $8 each.

(Review is based on the two colors pictured above)
